Mulberry Phosphate Museum View this post on Instagram Another stop that's been on my radar for awhile, I was hoping to gain some insight into the Phosphate industry at the Mosaic-sponsored museum in Mulberry. I did! • • Looking at satellite images of Central Florida, it's easy to pick out the phosphate mines (odd coloured water, in very geometric "lakes"). I didn't have much time, but managed to zip through two of the three railcar-housed exhibit halls to absorb what information I could. The first was all about phosphate and the mining of it, the second focused on fossils. The third was playing host to a meeting, so that'll be for my next visit. • • My favourite spot was actually outside – a giant deposit heap where you (read: kids) are invited to dig for fossils. I so wanted to have a go, but hit the road after my learnin' to reach my destination before sunset. • • @mulberryphosphatemuseum #mulberry #mosaiccompany #phosphate #mining #stopandlearn #fossils #LoveFL #floridacrackertrail #headedhome A post shared by Sara | RV Travel in the US (@thelonglongroad) on Feb 23, 2020 at 7:01pm PST
