Lake Placid View this post on Instagram For anyone wanting a little less "wilds of Florida" and a little more "downtown small town fun", you're about to be spoiled rotten! Remember the sign I drove by not long after I started the trip? The one declaring Lake Placid the "Town of Murals"? Well, by golly, they weren't kidding! The must-buy $4 Mural Guide, put out by the Lake Placid Mural Society, with all proceeds going to new masterpieces, gives detailed descriptions on all 49 murals scattered around town, seemingly *everywhere* you look. They don't limit themselves to walls, though, with sculptures, cut-outs, and some of the most artistic rubbish bins you've ever laid eyes on! • • I wanted to see them all, but Herbie was less inclined to walk away from the grassy, shaded parks. I made sure to ogle the old Post Office Mural, and the rest were what I spotted on our short loop. Y'all need to add Lake Placid to your Go See lists! Named "America's Most Interesting Town" by Reader's Digest, there is a lot here, in addition to the beautiful walls. • • @visitsebring #lakeplacid #wallmurals #SOmanywallmurals @readersdigest #excellentchoice #art #publicart #painting #history #postoffice #birds @visitflorida #LoveFL #floridacrackertrail A post shared by Sara | RV Travel in the US (@thelonglongroad) on Feb 19, 2020 at 1:51pm PST
