Fort Pierce View this post on Instagram I stopped at the Chamber, located in the historic Seven Gables House, to see if there was any information on the Florida Cracker Trail (the road, not the annual horse ride). There was not. Instead, I picked up some Highwaymen and Dust Trail brochures, and the good lady mentioned the downloadable Florida Humanities Council walking tour app. I'd seen similar brochures in one or two other towns, but hadn't had time to investigate. Seeing the PP Cobb General Store on this map, described as the "end of the Cracker Trail" in the few write-ups I've found, was all the incentive I needed to hit the download button. • • It's an audio tour – you can select which stop you'd like to listen to. I charted a short-ish route to P. P. Cobb and back (including some wall murals!), which allowed me to learn a little about the history of Fort Pierce while not melting entirely (and not leaving the pup for too long). Absolutely brilliant, something I'll definitely look for in other Florida towns. • • @flhumanities @floridamainstreet @mainstreetfortpierce @fortpiercefl #history #audiotour #walkingtour #takeawalk #learnsomethingnew #wallmural #sunrisetheatre #LoveFL #floridacrackertrail A post shared by Sara | RV Travel in the US (@thelonglongroad) on Feb 15, 2020 at 2:22pm PST
