Lake Manatee State Park View this post on Instagram It was such a lovely day, with blue skies, moderate temperatures, and less-than-gale-force winds, so I decided to get outside, and Herbie agreed. We picked Lake Manatee State Park, as it was closest, and hit the trails. Nothing too strenuous, and the non-shaded portions actually started to get a bit toasty after awhile. The park is super popular in winter, with campsites next to impossible to come by. We did the day-use thing, enjoying the free entry afforded by the annual pass. The Lake was lovely (no pets in the water), but I enjoyed the "satellite" unit, the Gopher Trail, just as much. A little waterfront walking, a little forest foray – variety is nice! Herbie is pictured looking ahead to the end of the appropriately named "road to nowhere" trail, a spur off the main trail in the Gopher section that I simply couldn't resist exploring (not with a name like that!) 🤣 • • @fl.stateparks #lakemanatee #getoutside #letsexplore #walkthedog #traveldog #rvdog #roaddog #takeahike #lakeviews #bradenton #enjoynature #LoveFL #floridacrackertrail A post shared by Sara | RV Travel in the US (@thelonglongroad) on Feb 8, 2020 at 3:43pm PST
