Lipantitlan State Historic Site View this post on Instagram At +/- 5 acres, I'm guessing Lipantitlan State Historic Site is one of the smaller Texas Parks locations. With zero amenities and a three line description in the Parks Guide, I'd wager it's one of the least visited. While out of the way, it wasn't hard to get to from Lake Corpus Christi, and a visit probably wouldn't take long. I wasn't wrong 😁 • • There are two markers out by the "main road", if you want to save yourself the drive, but why not venture the extra mile, past fields of friendly cows (and over a couple of really, really flat coyotes) for the full experience?! There's more history here than you might expect – are you familiar with the "Come and Take It" cannon in Gonzales? The one that started the whole Texas Revolution? Well, it wasn't the first one that had been borrowed…maybe the loaner here gave the folks up north the idea… • • @texasparkswildlife #lipantitlan #texashistory #historicsite #notmuchleft #markers #plaques #comeandtakeit #bestnottoborrow #traveltexas #homefortheholidays #floridabound A post shared by Sara | RV Travel in the US (@thelonglongroad) on Dec 17, 2019 at 6:09pm PST
