Oh. My. Stars. 😍 I do believe I've found another county park to add to my favourites list! Savannas, in St Lucie County, near the Atlantic, is diverse, gorgeous, friendly, and highly affordable. Anyone can visit to walk the extensive natural trails, or make use of the 1.5 mile paved bike/walking route, or picnic along the canal, or run the pup at the dog park…wow! If you have a dusting of luck on your side, and manage to score a campsite, you get all of the above (for extended hours beyond the 5:30 closing), old Florida views from your windows, neighbours who promptly invite you over for happy hour, and full hookups, including a perfectly positioned sewer (almost never the case for my oddly placed pipes), for under $30 a night.
