Gator Shack

View this post on Instagram

Having missed the breakfast hours at the Runway Cafe, I figured a stop at the Gator Shack was the next obvious choice, right? Sitting directly on a portion of the road that actually goes by "Florida Cracker Trail", the Shack doesn't look like much from the outside (appropriately!). Inside, you find a friendly staff and a lively atmosphere – the TVs at the bar reminding me that football is now never-ending (not necessarily a bad thing!). • • You can order up gator in a number of ways, with plenty of your more common meat choices for those not inclined to try the local delicacy. I wanted finger food, so fried gator bites it was. For a little styrofoam take-out box, the presentation was exquisite! And they were as good as they looked. Yes, the flavour is reminiscent of chicken, but gator has a different texture to it. If you've never had the pleasure, Florida really is a good place for a first taste! • • #gator #gatorbites @gatorshacklorida @visitsebring @freshfromflorida #localcuisine #tasteslikechicken #quickbite #LoveFL #floridacrackertrail
