I've seen it suggested that the Cascade Loop be driven in a counter-clockwise direction. My National Park plans meant I couldn't do that. Looking west from Mazama, I think I understand that recommendation. You approach the North Cascades from the flatter, less-treed Methow Valley, giving you amazing vistas like this…hints at what's to come.
